Dear MHE-CCC Friends, We have completed our MHE-CCC educational meetings for 2008. There will be no Milton H. Erickson of the California Central Coast meetings for the remainder of 2008. We are now engaged in the next step of our growth in offering educational and professional community services. We are planning to offer two workshop programs in 2009. First, we will continue our tradition of free 2 hour presentations to professionals as well as the general public in 2009. Second, since we can now offer Continuing Educational Credits (CEUs) for California Psychologists, MFTs and LCSWs, we are in the planning stages of providing a series of professional weekend workshops for professional CEUs in 2009. We would like to believe that our new professional weekend workshops can open up more enlightening perspectives for our professional development. We would like to dedicate them to the highest inspirational levels of each of us as individuals and well as a group. Please let us know what some of your highest professional inspirational levels would be for 2009. We would hope to use them as joyful inspirations for planning our 2009 workshops. One inspiration might be to study the best of MHE's professional world view as presented in the new 16+ volumes of his Collected Works (see the attached brochure). The first 4 volumes edited by Ernest & Kathryn Rossi and one of Erickson's daughters, Roxanna Erickson-Klein, are now available at www.erickson-foundation.org/collectedworks (or call 602-956-6196). In particular, we would like to recommend as preparation for our 2009 professional workshops, a careful study volume 3 of MHE's Collected Works: "Opening the Mind, Innovative Psychotherapy." The Editors' Preface, "Opening the Heart and Mind," and Chapter 31, "Novel Activity-Dependent Approaches to Therapeutic Hypnosis," are verbatim transcripts of what we believe is the last videotape ever made of MHE about a month before he died in 1980. They record MHE's last lesson in training Ernest Rossi to "Open his mind to all he needed to learn to become a good practioner of therapeutic hypnosis." Meanwhile, you are invited to Ernest's forthcoming 2 day workshop with the Southern California Society of Clinical Hypnosis on September 20-21, 2008 at our web site WWW.ErnestRossi.com. Stay in touch, Ernest & Kathryn Rossi |
